Octopus can be used to pay mobile phone bills and earn Reward$ at payment kiosks in over 30 one2free outlets.

Octopus can be used to pay mobile phone bills for China Mobile customers through self-service payment machines at their over 45 outlets.

Customers can purchase umbrellas from the self-service ULA umbrella kiosks (available at selected MTR stations and shopping malls managed by The Link).

Octopus can be used to place orders and make payment at self-service kiosks at selected outlets of Café de Coral. Orders are ready within minutes.

The Portable Octopus Processor has been used to support flag-selling drives for charity organisations. The device is perfect for this kind of event as it requires no external electricity supply or telephone line connection.

Octopus can be used to hire skating boots and lockers as well as for pay-by-the-minute skating time at the Rink, the modern ice-skating facility at the Elements.

At Wellcome supermarkets and one2free shops, Rewards memberships can be activated, Reward$ downloaded and Reward$ balances displayed.

Octopus is used for access control, attendance taking and paying miscellaneous fees at over 180 schools in Hong Kong.

Octopus is used for access control at over 220 residential and commercial buildings in Hong Kong.

Octopus can be used to book leisure and sports facilities and to enrol in various programmes provided by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

A reader/writer interacts with Octopus to perform instructions from the interface devices. Data is sent back for clearing and settlement at the end of each day.
